Go Cubs!!!

Mackenzie's Cheer Season has officially started - she is now a Cubberley Cub's cheerleader!! She looks absolutely adorable in her uniform. Their shell & jacket are personalized with their names. I also took a video of one of the cheers - I've never posted a video so I'm not sure if it's going to work!! Sorry it's taken from behind, but I couldn't get in front of the squad. She still looks cute!! She is also cheering at the Millikan High School football game this Friday. Kenzie is really enjoying learning new cheers & is constantly cheering around the house!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game....

It's that time of year again! Blake started the Fall Baseball season a couple of weeks ago. His team is the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. As usual the kids all look totally adorable. Blake is doing very well. A few differences from last season - the kids are actually pitching this year. After the 4th ball - the coach will pitch - but it's great practice for the kids. Also they are now able to steal bases - so it's absolutely hysterical watching all the kids steal as many bases as they can! We also bought him new baseball gloves on Saturday - he wore them all day & we had to make him take them off so he could eat his pizza! One uniform addition has been made this year - that only applies to boys. I won't be anymore specific - but Blake had a hard time concentrating during the game once we realized that he could knock on his pants & not feel anything!! No need for any more details!!

First Day of School

Well the kids started school on Wednesday. Mackenzie is in 4th grade & Blake is in 2nd grade.

Both of the kids wear uniforms to school. It's actually been very nice - they both just have to wear either blue or white tops & dark blue shorts.

Mackenzie is very excited - because one of her best friends from Grace (the school she went to from K-1st) is going to their public school. She is even in Kenzie's class!!! The kids are also enjoying having friends who go to their school in our neighborhood. They didn't have that when they went to the private school - so it's been a nice treat for them.

Summer Time

The kids & I went for a walk in the park while Jake was at a tournament in Huntington Beach.

We went kayaking at Sunset Beach. The kids loved it & it was a beautiful area. Blake having a good time at the High School Musical play

Hike w/ Andy & Allsion

In May, Andy & Allison took us for a hike in the Santa Monica hills. We had a great time! The kids even picked up a baby snake. It was a very peaceful way to get out all of Blake's energy!!!

4th of July

We had a great time this 4th of July. Our neighborhood has an annual parade that all of the neighborhood kids participate in. They have to decorate their bikes or scooters & dress in patriotic colors & then they follow a fire truck around the neighborhood. As you can see from the picture - a lot of people show up every year! After the parade we spent the afternoon at Jamie & Kevin's house. We all climbed up onto their roof & watched the fireworks from there.

Hawaii

In May we flew to Hawaii for our best friends' wedding. We first spent some time in Kauai. We snorkeled at a beach called Tunnels, enjoyed time with our friends at the Beach House Restaurant for the rehearsal dinner and had a wonderful time at Jamie & Kevin's wedding. They were married on Shipwrecks Beach in Kauai. The reception was held at the Grand Hyatt which was walking distance from the beach. Everything was perfect!! The day after the wedding Jake & I flew to Oahu to spend some time alone. We had an awesome time! We explored the island, went snorkeling at Hanauma Bay and went to a luau the last night. We can't wait to get back!!
